US, Los Angeles: Pomona Emergency Responders Rescue Driver From Riverbed Crash

Los Angeles, United States - March 19, 2025 03/19/2025 11:55 pm (GMT-0700) POMONA, Calif. – Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol from the Rancho Cucamonga Station, the Chino Valley Fire Department, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pomona Police Department, were dispatched to a traffic collision at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Hillcrest Drive in Pomona, near the Chino border. Firefighters and paramedics arrived to find a vehicle in a riverbed with one person trapped inside. They used the jaws of life to cut open the roof and free the female driver, who was then hoisted up by firefighters. She was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Investigators are working to determine whether alcohol or speed played a role in the crash. A friend of the victim, speaking off-camera, mentioned she had just left his house before the incident. The Pomona Police Department is leading the investigation into the traffic collision.
