UK: Massive Fire Shuts Down London’s Heathrow Airport
London, United Kingdom - March 21, 2025 London's Heathrow Airport has been forced to close after a massive fire at an electrical substation in North Hyde, Hayes, caused significant power outages. Emergency services responded to the fire late Thursday night, with around 70 firefighters battling the blaze. As a result, Heathrow has suspended all operations until 11:59 PM on March 21, advising passengers to avoid the airport and contact their airlines for updates. Hundreds of flights have been affected, leading to widespread travel disruptions.
