Fort Lauderdale, United States - March 20, 2025 The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stone (WMSL 758) offloaded approximately 45,600 pounds of illicit narcotics worth more than $517.5 million on March 20, 2025. The massive seizure stemmed from 14 interdictions carried out by the Stone’s crew in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. They worked alongside an embarked Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron aircrew and a Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team-Pacific detachment. The crew of USCGC Mohawk (WMEC 913) also assisted in the operations, which took place in international waters. In addition to the narcotics, 35 suspected smugglers were apprehended and brought ashore. They now face federal prosecution in U.S. courts for their alleged involvement in the smuggling operations.
