US, Los Angeles: Pomona Fatal Collision Involving Pedestrian Under Investigation

Los Angeles, United States - March 20, 2025 03/20/2025 10:00 pm (GMT-0700) POMONA, Calif. – Claremont police and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of North Towne Avenue and Richmond Avenue. First responders arrived on the scene and attempted lifesaving measures on the victim, but the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The black SUV that struck the pedestrian remained at the location and was cooperating with officers. Pomona police were also dispatched to the fatal crash due to the incident occurring within their jurisdiction and will be handling the investigation. At this time, it is unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Pomona PD Press Release Update: INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION DATE/TIME: Thursday, March 20, 2025, 10:04 PM LOCATION: Towne Ave ͸ Towne Park Cir UNIT: Traffic Services Bureau VICTIM: Adult-Female (name withheld pending notification) On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at approximately 10:04 PM, Pomona Police Officers responded to the area of Towne Ave and Towne Park Cir. regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision. Responding officers arrived on scene and located the pedestrian laying in the roadway suffering from severe injuries. First responders performed life saving measures; however, the pedestrian ultimately succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The proximate cause of this collision is unknown at this time. This crash is being investigated by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
