Fierce winds wreaked havoc in Canyon, Texas.

The storm swept through the city with gusts reaching up to 84 mph (135 km/h), causing widespread destruction.

Footage captured by Dr J B Boren shows the intense storm battering the city, reducing visibility to just half a mile in town and even less in rural areas on March 14.

The wild weather, comparable to a Category 1 hurricane, caused chaos across the region, with a peak of 76 mph recorded in the area.

The fierce gusts shattered windows in multiple buildings, including the Westgate Mall, and left a trail of destruction in their wake.

Major highways I-40 and I-27 were reportedly shut down after several trucks were overturned by the gale-force winds.
