This is the amusing moment a clumsy cat tried to leap from a wall - being getting trapped in a washing machine.

The hapless orange feline tried to sneak into a family's home but accidentally ended up inside the appliance in Phatthalung, Thailand, on January 13.

CCTV footage shows the furry creature positioning itself to jump from the wall.

Upon landing, it lost balance and nearly fell into the drum. Eventually, it tumbled inside and inadvertently grabbed the machine's lid, causing it to shut.

The animal can be heard crying loudly while desperately trying to push the cover open with its paws.

The homeowner heard the noise and looked outside to find the cat.

Moments later, the feline managed to lift the lid and slowly clamber out.

The woman turned just in time to witness the cat's escape as the washing machine cover slammed shut.
