Melting snow during the spring thaw has caused severe floods in Russia

Footage shows roads and gardens submerged by the deluge on March 21 in the town of Asha.

Officials said that in 11 regions, floods have affected at least 107 residential homes, 310 household plots, 48 low-water bridges, and 39 road sections.

Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said the staff are working to ensure the water does not cause further damage.

Authorities provided targeted aid, organised boat crossings, and delivered food and essentials in inundated areas.

In Chelyabinsk Oblast's Asha city, the Sim River's water level dropped after blasting operations, channel diversions, and riverbed clearing. As a result, 21 private homes, 81 garden houses, and 121 household plots were freed from water in a day.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Inzer River's rising waters flooded homes and plots in Azovo village. Across the region, 106 homes and 245 plots remain underwater, though 27 plots dried out in the past day.

Rescuers evacuated 127 people, including 20 children, with 50 now in shelters.
