Avalanche mitigation measures were carried out as a winter storm hit the Cottonwood Canyons in Utah.

Video shows snow rolling down a mountain slope as officials conducted artificial triggering to shake off fresh snow, on March 20.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) reported that SR-210 was reopened after avalanche mitigation and road operations were completed.

However, UDOT warned that drivers might face fully stopped traffic even after the road reopens, as the traffic queue clears out.

The avalanche and subsequent road closure have disrupted travel plans in the popular ski destination.
