A car passenger survived when a lorry carrying logs fell onto the vehicle.

The incident occurred near Irkutsk, in south-central Russia, on Sunday, March 16.

Footage shows the car driving along the icy road as the driver notices the lorry pulling a trailer full of logs approaching from the opposite direction.

The driver pulls over to the side of the road to allow the lorry to pass. The truck slows as it begins to pass the car, reportedly an SUV, but the trailer begins to slip on the snow, causing it to move towards a slope next to the road.

Suddenly, the lorry trailer then tips over onto the car, partially crushing it and covering it with logs.

The car's driver, visible in the rear dashcam footage, exits the vehicle just before the logs fall onto it. He can be heard shouting to the passenger, who responds, apparently unhurt.

After the crash, the car began leaking fuel, but the passenger turned off the ignition and radio to prevent a fire.

The man trapped inside the car reportedly survived, though it remains unclear whether he was injured.
