US, Los Angeles: North Hills Homeowner Shoots Suspect Allegedly Stealing Tires

Los Angeles, United States - March 24, 2025 03/24/2025 12:40 am (GMT-0700) NORTH HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles police officers responded to a call reporting a burglary in progress in the 16000 block of Gledhill Street. While officers were en route to the location, a second call reported a gunshot victim at the same location. Upon arrival, police quickly transported the gunshot victim away from the residence. The victim was then taken to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The condition of the victim is currently unknown. As part of their response, LAPD officers used a loudspeaker to instruct anyone inside the residence to exit with their hands up. Two individuals complied and emerged from the house, leading to their detention. The two people were the homeowners and subsequently released, an LAPD spokesperson told Key News Network. According to the LAPD spokesperson, a homeowner confronted suspects removing the wheels from his vehicle, and during the confrontation, shots were fired, striking a juvenile suspect. There were a total of four suspects; three had fled the scene, and one was transported to a local hospital. Additionally, an LAPD officer was seen carrying a bag of evidence out of the residence, indicating the ongoing investigation into the events.
