15th century Roman bridge damaged by floods in Spain
A 15th-century Roman bridge was damaged by floods in Spain.
The historic structure in Talavera de la Reina, in Toledo, partially collapsed early on Sunday morning, March 23. Heavy rainfall caused the Tajo River to overflow, overwhelming the ancient architecture.
Dramatic footage shows the ruined historic bridge broken into three parts, with a small section remaining in the middle.
The Ministries of Culture and Ecological Transition have already committed to rebuilding the 61m long and 4m high bridge.
Authorities reported that on Sunday, ten of Spain's 19 regions were under orange and yellow alerts due to the risk of intense downpours.
