Man proposes to his girlfriend with ring hidden in £1.5k Le Creuset haul
A woman was surprised with the proposal of her dreams— a ring and two full Le Creuset sets worth £1.5K.
Vanessa Sani, 30, and her now-fiancé Matthias, 34, had been browsing the famous cookware online for weeks.
And
earlier this month (March 6), Vanessa walked into her home to find several pots and pans covered by a cloth on the table.
Iron pots are the traditional cookware used in Vanessa's native Portugal.
Matthias had prepared a quiz, revealing a Le Creuset item for each correct answer.
The final question uncovered a heart-shaped casserole dish containing a ring box—at which point Matthias got down on one knee and proposed.
Vanessa, a content creator based in Geneva, Switzerland, said: "It was such a special surprise."
"We had been looking at Le Creuset items online, but I had no idea what he was planning."
"I'm Portuguese and we cook a lot of our dishes in cast-iron pots so having such high-quality ones makes me excited to recreate the dishes I grew up with."
"Matthias said that these dishes are meant to last a lifetime—just like our love."
"It was a really sweet touch."
The items included a variety of pots, pans, plates, and serving dishes, all in Vanessa's preferred colors: berry and sea salt.
Vanessa said: "The whole bundle included the company's flower casserole dish, an iron bread oven, a grill pan and a heart-shaped pot."
"There were also heart-shaped plates, three small heart-shaped sauce pots and two breakfast bowls."
"There were a few other standard pots and, finally, some utensils with their own holder."
Of course, Vanessa responded to the proposal with a resounding "Yes!" and the couple are now planning their wedding."
Vanessa said: "It's a bit tricky because Matthias is German and I'm Portuguese, so depending on where we get married, the paperwork might be complicated."
"But we definitely want a short engagement."
"We really hope to be married by the end of 2026."
