US, Los Angeles: Vermont Slauson Police Find Gun In Vehicle at Hit And Run

Los Angeles, United States - March 24, 2025 03/24/2025 10:41 pm (GMT-0700) VERMONT-SLAUSON, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Police Department officers located a gun inside a vehicle at the scene of a hit-and-run collision late Monday night. LAPD units from the 77th Division responded to initial reports of a rollover crash with a shooting victim in the 800 block of West 54th Street. Upon arrival, officers located several wrecked vehicles but did not find a shooting victim. A large crowd had gathered on the sidewalk and in the street after the crash. According to an LAPD spokesperson, there was a crash and a fight, and then the driver of a vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene, leaving the car behind. A gun was found inside a vehicle and impounded by the LAPD. The spokesperson told Key News Network there was no shooting and no arrests. According to information at the scene, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics evaluated an individual from another vehicle involved in the incident.
