A clumsy Muay Thai pupil accidentally kicked her trainer in the face.

Kara, from France, signed up at the kickboxing gym to learn the sport and struck the instructor, Pinsinchai, square in the cheek.

CCTV footage shows Kara attempting a roundhouse kick that was supposed to hit the training pad.

Instead, Kara's foot veered off course and landed directly on the side of Pinsinchai's jaw in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 22.

Pinsinchai Muay Thai Gym owner Thiraphong Seswisay said: 'Her kick almost knocked out the trainer. She was strong.'

Despite the mishap, the trainer laughed it off and continued the session.

Kara quickly apologised and did more kicks when the trainer told her he was fine.

Muay Thai is a combat sport from Thailand utilising punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes.

It originated as a battlefield martial art and evolved into a competitive sport with rules and regulations.
