Two sisters recreated Sabrina Carpenter's Short ‘N Sweet concert in a hospital room - after a "devastating" injury left them unable to go. "

Sharlie Faye Clyde, 28, and sister Megan-Marie, 25, aimed to travel from Toronto Pearson Airport to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for the show at the city's Ziggo Dome.

But just before entering airport security, Sharlie was struck with back pain so severe, she collapsed and was rushed to hospital with a herniated spinal disc.

Photographer Sharlie urged her sister to continue on without her - and board the plane she had booked a ticket for later that day.

Instead, Megan-Marie flew to Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, New Brunswick, with party supplies and their concert outfits.

She turned the room into a "mini concert" while Sharlie awaited surgery for a herniated spinal disc, and they watched the concert on their phones instead. "

Sharlie, from Munson, Alberta, Canada, said: "We'd had the Amsterdam date planned for months and months - we were devastated we couldn't go."

"I told her to go without me."

"She showed up the next day, went to Party City and got all the supplies to turn my hospital room into a mini-concert. "

"Now, all we can do is watch out for the ‘Juno' positions on our phone - which is better than nothing!"

Sharlie and Megan-Marie have been self-confessed Sabrina "megafans" for three years - and even followed her career when she was on Disney Channel's Girl Meets World."

They booked tickets for the Amsterdam date on March 23, but hoped to attend her other European shows afterwards.

But just "a few" days before the sisters were due to make the 3,715-mile trip, Sharlie began experiencing a severe nagging pain in her back and legs out of the blue."

"I thought I could still go, but with a cane," she said."

"I could even potentially use a wheelchair - I was so determined to get to the concert."

On March 23, Sharlie collapsed in the departure lounge, and she was taken to hospital, accompanied by her husband, Joshua, 35, where she was diagnosed with a herniated disc.

"I've been told I'm going to need surgery to repair it - but in the meantime, I need to stay in hospital," she said."

"They think it's going to be three-to-four weeks, so we won't be able to book any more dates anytime soon."

Skipping her flight to Amsterdam, and flying to Munson instead, Megan-Marie turned up the next day with a bag filled with including pink streamers, feather boas and baby pink ‘SC' balloons.

Joshua even surprised Sharlie with a dance to ‘Busy Woman'.

Sharlie said: "We already had our outfits - pink dresses and cowboy boots - and she gave me a pink feather boa and little pink cowboy hat to go with it."

"My husband has been doing absolutely everything for me; bringing me fast food, making sure I keep my spirits up."

"My mum and my sister have been here every day to take care of me."

The pair hope to try again when Sabrina comes to Toronto in November.
