China - March 26, 2025 Storyline: China’s EV Industry speeds up its intelligent transformation [Voice_over] Chinese EV makers are speeding up the incorporation of artificial intelligence into their production processes and products. At this manufacturing base for Voyah of Dongfeng Motor in central China's Hubei Province, a new vehicle equipped with AI technology rolls of the production line every 118 seconds. The company's CEO says new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence are at a crucial intersection. [Sound_bite] Lu Fang, CEO, Voyah： "We see intelligent vehicles as the best products to apply AI technologies and we think there will be wider application of AI technologies in vehicles as well. As the development of China's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry reaches a critical juncture, intelligence-driven development is definitely where the industry is heading for." [Voice_over] Meanwhile, companies that make parts and components for new energy vehicles, like this power semiconductor manufacturer, are using automated production lines that can pump out products around the clock. [Sound_bite] Wu Yingqiu, Deputy director, Manufacturing Department, Zhixin Semiconductor Company Limited: "The second production line has a greater production capacity of 400,000 units, bringing our total production capacity to 700,000 units. So far, the number of preorders we had received has doubled compared with last year."
