Recently, in Datang Street, Zhuji, Shaoxing, three young children accidentally wandered into a busy intersection, narrowly avoiding danger as traffic flowed around them. Fortunately, they encountered three off-duty police officers on their way home from work.

Surveillance footage captured the moment during the evening rush hour when the three preschool-aged children unknowingly stepped into the bustling traffic. Holding hands, they hesitantly moved forward, stopping and looking around, oblivious to the imminent danger. Luckily, three men got out of two private cars waiting at a red light—they were the off-duty officers.

Officer Lü Zhe from the Datang Police Station of Zhuji Public Security Bureau said, “As soon as I saw the situation, I rushed over immediately. It was extremely dangerous. If I hadn’t acted right away, the vehicles behind could have moved forward, leading to a potentially irreversible accident.”

Lü Zhe and his colleagues quickly escorted the children to safety. Upon questioning, they learned that the kids had lost their way home. The eldest was only three years old, while the youngest was just over a year old. Lü carefully carried each child into a police car and took them to the station.

During the ride, Lü patiently comforted the children. At the station, he searched for clues about their families through surveillance footage while also buying them some treats. Within half an hour, he successfully contacted their parents.

It turned out that the three little ones had sneaked out of their home while the adults weren’t paying attention and ended up getting lost.

In the end, their anxious family members arrived at the police station and took them safely back home.
