Police retrieved escaped cattle on Interstate 45 in Texas.

At least 31 cows and bulls wandered onto the highway near the Hardy Toll Road, bringing traffic to a standstill in Conroe on March 24.

Footage shows herders and officers wrangling a bull toward a stock trailer in the middle of the road.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office Livestock Units, patrol teams, Motorist Assistance Program Units, and the Department of Public Safety continued searching for any remaining cattle to ensure safety and restore normal traffic flow.

Authorities reported that one cow was struck, and a vehicle overturned during the incident. They confirmed that the driver did not sustain any injuries.

Driver Robert Green who helped police officers said: 'Once we found them, we tracked them, and they started coming out this way. I'm pretty sure they ran off over that lane. One of them is bleeding pretty bad because we found blood on the sidewalk, and we found tracks of blood throughout the woods as well.'

Motorists were warned to expect significant delays and were urged to proceed with caution to prevent collisions with the roaming cattle.
