Flash floods flowed through the streets as powerful hailstorms hit Spain.

Residents in Malaga experienced continuous rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail on March 25.

Dramatic footage shows water rushing down a street filled with ice pellets in Alhaurin el Grande.

Authorities said the storm also impacted other areas of the province, including Campanillas, Puerto de la Torre, and Teatinos.

The National Weather Agency issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and hail, extending to Malaga City and Guadalhorce, with the possibility of up to 15 mm of rainfall per hour on Tuesday evening.

Hailstones form when raindrops are carried by thunderstorm updrafts into freezing areas of the atmosphere. As they rise, they freeze and grow by colliding with other raindrops that freeze onto them. This can also occur during spring and summer thunderstorms.
