Reports of a damaged house due to an object detaching from aircraft at Tregaswith hamlet close to the flight path of RAF St Mawgan/Newquay airport.
The damage to the house and bathroom of Sue Runde is now believed to be from a towed target missile drogue, seen lodged in nearby trees.
Nobody was hurt but it caused significant damage by penetrating the roof and smashing into a bathroom.
Sue says it was too low as it came over my house - it had been diverted to Newquay Airport because it had reported a problem, the winch wasn't working so they couldn't retract the cable.
"It came over my house and obviously too low, so it went through my roof, destroying part of my roof, all the bathroom, lots of damage inside and was absolutely horrifically frightening."In adjacent trees a suspiciously missile shaped device, clearly damaged at the front tend and connected to a cable strung out along the tree line hangs precariously. Military markings are visible on the tail fins. Flight investigators are called in. Overhead an RAF heavy transport aircraft is observed circling the vicinity, of the sleepy hamlet of Tregaswith which is on the outskirts of the country town of St Columb Major in Cornwall UK
