Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a boarded-up double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames, with heavy smoke billowing from the structure. The mobile home appears to be a total loss. There are currently no reports of injuries; however, witnesses at the scene indicated that multiple homeless individuals were seen fleeing the area prior to the fire department's arrival. Another neighbor also reported waking up to alerts from their Ring camera and noticed that a homeless camp on the back patio, covered in tarps, was on fire. The neighbor then called 911 to report the fire. Bakersfield Arson Investigators arrived at the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire.
