Germany: Berlin Protest Glorifies Hamas and Demands the Eradication of Israel
Berlin, Germany - March 08, 2025 A pro-Palestinian demonstration at Oranienplatz in Berlin on Saturday, March 8, 2025, escalated into open calls for the destruction of Israel and violent resistance, with demonstrators chanting extremist slogans as German police stood by without taking action. The crowd chanted, “There is only one solution, there is only one state, Palestine 48”, an unmistakable call for the eradication of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian state encompassing all territory from the river to the sea. The Arabic chant “min el-mayeh lil-mayeh, Falastin Arabiyeh” echoed this sentiment, asserting that all land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean belongs exclusively to Arabs, leaving no place for Israel or its Jewish population. More alarming were explicit references to Hamas’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, as protestors chanted “Ezz Al-Din Al Qassam Brigades,” a direct show of support for the terrorist group responsible for the mass slaughter of Israeli civilians and the kidnapping of over 200 hostages on October 7, 2023. The crowd further escalated its rhetoric with “There is only one solution, Intifada, Intifada” and “Long live the intifada, long live the resistance,” calls for a violent uprising against Israel, referencing past intifadas that resulted in waves of deadly terrorist attacks. The protest did not stop at anti-Israel rhetoric. Demonstrators also turned their anger toward Germany itself, chanting “Israel is a terror state” alongside “Germany is a fascist state, fuck you Germany, fuck you, Netanyahu.” German authorities took no action as these explicit threats and incitements to violence were broadcast in broad daylight in the nation’s capital. Despite Germany’s laws against glorifying terrorism, hate speech and antisemitism, no arrests were made, and no efforts were seen to disperse the crowd.
