A hapless pet dog was found with its head stuck in a garden wall but eventually managed to free itself.

Lettuce, a female two-year-old Golden Retriever, became wedged in a hole in the concrete barricade at her home in Rizal, the Philippines, on November 13.

This prompted her owner, Margaret Cyril Mole, to call her name in an attempt to set her loose.

Footage shows the Goldie sitting on the ground with her head poking through the crack. Upon hearing her keeper's voice, she excitedly yanked herself out and ran towards her.

Margaret said: 'We were about to go for a walk in the rice field, but since she was so excited, she discovered a hole leading to our garden, where she loves to play and run.

'She wasn't hurt and was completely fine. This happens quite often, and I think she does it out of excitement.'
