On March 28, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, with strong tremors felt in Ruili, Yunnan, near the China-Myanmar border.
At the time of the quake, a surgery was in progress at Ruili People’s Hospital. The sudden shaking disrupted the procedure, but the lead surgeon remained composed. He firmly braced the patient with his arms to prevent them from sliding off the operating table.
Meanwhile, other medical staff in the operating room reacted instantly—two doctors rushed in, using their arms to stabilize the surgical bed and ensure the patient’s safety.
This textbook example of emergency response was captured on the operating room’s surveillance footage. In the video, the doctors remained calm under pressure, prioritizing the patient’s safety while continuing the surgery. Their unwavering dedication earned widespread praise from both the patient’s family and the public.
