Brooklyn Park, United States - March 29, 2025 Fire crews and emergency responders rushed to a Brooklyn Park home on Saturday afternoon after a plane crashed into it and sparked a fire. During a press conference, Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway reported that the incident occurred at around 12:22 p.m. The Brooklyn Park Fire Department was dispatched to handle the aircraft emergency. Officials arrived to find a thick column of smoke rising from a house engulfed in flames. Firefighters spotted aircraft debris scattered inside as they battled the blaze. Brooklyn Park fire officials stated that the fire was under control within an hour of their arrival. Conway noted that authorities do not believe anyone on the plane survived the crash. The number of people on board remains unknown at this time. All residents of the home and first responders escaped unharmed, according to Brooklyn Park fire officials. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a SOCATA TBM7. It had taken off from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa and was bound for Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis. Audio recordings from Anoka Air Traffic Control revealed two warnings to the pilot about flying too low. The plane crashed just eight miles short of its destination. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued a statement saying, “NTSB is investigating the crash of a Socata TMB 700 airplane on March 29 near Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The preliminary information we have is the plane impacted a residence and experienced a post-crash fire.” NTSB investigators are heading to the site and are expected to arrive tomorrow. They will document the scene, examine the wreckage, and later move the aircraft to a secure facility for further analysis.
