Cops bust counterfeiter's fake US dollar money-printing factory and seize millions
Police officers busted a fake US dollar money-printing factory and seized more than seven million USD in counterfeit currency.
Footage shows authorities entering the illegal money-printing press in Mersin, Turkey, on March 25, where they discovered countless fake banknotes. Some were already cut and ready for use, while others were still on large sheets of paper.
The video also shows one suspect being arrested and escorted from the scene as he was taken into custody. He has been identified only by the initials HU.
Authorities reportedly seized over seven million USD (5.4 million GBP) in counterfeit money.
Three individuals were apprehended during the bust, carried out by teams from the Mersin Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organised Crime Branch.
The other two suspects have been identified only as YT and AT.
AT was reportedly caught at a bus station with 132,000 USD in fake bills and a portable device containing blueprints to forge more money.
The investigation is ongoing.
