Policemen on a quad bike sped across a frozen lake in New York to check if anglers were complying with fishing regulations.
Environmental Conservation Officers Brassard and LaPoint were seen driving ATVs across the icy surface of Lake George on March 9.
The initiative was part of an inspection conducted by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).
During their patrol, they encountered two perch fishermen at 'The Narrows' carrying a bucket filled with fish. Upon counting, they found at least 69 perch, 19 more than the legal limit.
One fisherman received a violation ticket during the patrol.
NYSDEC aims to prevent overfishing and maintain ecological balance in the region's water bodies. The department set limits on the number and size of fish that can be caught to prevent overexploitation.
