Footage captured by Mr Xu shows the owner placing the close-fitting legwear on the fluffy white feline's head, revealing how small it actually was, in Zhejiang, China, on December 5.
The furry creature sitting on the table can be seen struggling to remove the hosiery, pawing at it and shaking it off.
Meanwhile, the amused pet keepers laugh as it tries to get it off.
Mr Xu said: 'We were surprised to discover that our cat's head was small and just covered by its fluffy fur. We eventually removed the stocking.'
