A pickup truck crashed through driveway gates minutes after a husband had been stood there.

The man had been watching his pet fish in a pond near the barricades just before an out-of-control vehicle violently smashed into his home in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

After feeding the aquatic animals, he decided to sit in the garage and browse his phone, unknowingly saving himself from a tragic accident, as the speeding four-wheeler later slammed into the very spot where he had stood moments earlier.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle ploughing into the wall, destroying both the entrance and the nearby fishpond.

The visibly terrified homeowner immediately stood up and went inside to tell his family members what had happened.

The man said: 'I was feeding the fish earlier and sat outside for a while. If I had stayed by the gate at that time, I could have been seriously injured.'

The driver admitted to speeding, which caused him to lose control. He expressed deep regret and agreed to cover all damages.

The car owner reportedly sustained minor injuries from the car crash.
