Woman's face left swollen after popping pimple
A woman's face became swollen and lopsided after she popped a pimple under her nose.
Lalang Julwen Ignacio, 25, said she woke up with a small zit between her upper lip and nose in Surigao del Norte, the Philippines.
Lalang spent a day exploring the island with friends on a motorcycle, and when she woke up the next day, the zit had turned into a painful mass on March 19.
Footage shows Lalang's face visibly uneven as the pimple extended to her cheek. She plastered red flowers on the skin, hoping the alternative remedy would help.
However, the swelling was still present today, April 2, some two weeks after her initial pimple.
Lalang said: 'I used a home remedy. I put crushed gumamela flowers on my face and wrapped it with a bandage but it had no effect. The pus was not gone and it became more red, more sore.
'I think the pimple was infected and it became ten times worse. It is like having an illness, it's very bad.'
Lalang recorded herself removing the bandage, but the pus-filled pimple was still there.
The vlogger also went to the doctor as the pain became unbearable. She was given antibiotics to fight off the infection.
Dermatologist Dr Grace Carol Beltral said infected pimples near the nose area should be checked by medics.
She said: 'Consult your doctor immediately. The infection can reach the brain if left untreated.'
