The attack claimed the lives of Bardawil, his wife, and their three children, according to local sources. Bombardment across Gaza showed no signs of stopping during Eid al-Fitr, which is the first one of the two main festivals in Islam, the other being Eid al-Adha. The Israeli army on Monday carried out airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, killing 22 people on the second day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. On Sunday, the first day of the Eid, 64 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks. The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing over 1,000 people since then and shattering the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. Overall, more than 50,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in the Israeli military onslaught in Gaza since October 2023. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
