Huge python caught slithering through family's bed
A huge python was caught entering through a home's window and slithering across a family's bed.
Footage shows the girthy 15ft (5m) serpent laying on a mattress with pink sheets as it was found by residents in Negros Occidental, the Philippines.
The snake's tail was still outside the window, covered by the curtain, while its head was already on the edge of the double-sized bed.
Resident Mary Jane Baja said they were about to sleep when the reptile was discovered inside the bedroom on March 27.
Mary said: 'It happened a little past midnight. We were so scared. It could have entered while we were sleeping. I always sleep on the side near the window.'
The snake was later caught and handed over to local wildlife officers.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
