Close to 300 passengers aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight traveling from Heathrow to Delhi have been stranded at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY) in Turkey after their flight was diverted due to a medical emergency. The aircraft, an Airbus A350, was diverted to Turkey after a passenger experienced a panic attack. However, passengers were soon informed that a technical glitch had also occurred, further complicating the situation.

The Diyarbakir Airport, which isn't equipped to handle the A350, has caused significant delays. Similar aircraft arrangements are taking longer than expected, and over 200 passengers are still stranded at the airport.

One of the stranded passengers shared their ordeal:
“We made an emergency landing due to a passenger having a panic attack, but then we were told the aircraft had some technical issues.

"This airport is not equipped to handle this kind of aircraft, and after the glitch, we’ve been stuck here. We are about 250-300 passengers, and it’s been 16 hours since we landed here at 5 pm Wednesday UK time. We haven’t received accommodations, and we can’t leave the airport as it’s a military base."

Passengers are now awaiting further updates while the airline works to resolve the situation.
