A stray cat wandering inside a yard ate a sleeping dog's dinner.

Ms Yang spotted the moggy munching on the leftovers of the napping Golden Retriever in Tianjin, China, on October 9.

Footage shows the pooch lying on the ground while the furry creature eats the snacks, glancing back and forth at the dog to make sure it is still asleep.

The pet owner said: 'Ever since my dog realized that this stray cat comes every day to eat his leftovers, he has been waiting for the cat to finish eating before he eats his own food.

But the cat is very timid, it always checks to make sure he's asleep before coming over, and even before eating, it takes one last look to confirm he's really asleep.

'So, every time the cat comes, my dog pretends to be asleep, maybe to avoid scaring it away. My dog is truly so kind-hearted.'
