ERUSALEM - APR. 3: Israeli forces demolished on Thursday, Apr. 3, a house in the town of Jaba in occupied East Jerusalem, where two Palestinian families were residing. Ata al-Ubaidi, the owner of the house, told that his 200-square-meter home was completely destroyed. He stated that two families were living in the house and that Israeli forces carried out the demolition without prior warning. Ubaidi explained that the house, which was built a few years ago, was inhabited. He mentioned that the demolition was carried out without justification, as claimed by Israeli forces, due to a military decision. He added that they were left without shelter and uncertain about their future, having lost everything. The Israeli army has also launched a deadly offensive in the northern West Bank since January, killing more than 70 Palestinians and displacing thousands. The International Court of Justice declared Israel’s longstanding occupation of Palestinian territories illegal in July. It demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
