Arrogant Russian tourist DANCES after 'crashing into local's car while drunk'
An arrogant Russian tourist was seen dancing after allegedly drunk driving and crashing into a local's parked car in Thailand.
The holidaymaker, on a road trip with a foreign friend, reportedly lost control and collided with vehicles in Phuket, which has become a tropical haven by draft dodging Ruskis.
One street food seller suffered neck injuries in the collision and required hospital treatment. Shocked onlookers called the police.
But the blonde female in black shorts and bucket hat simply turned up the volume on the wrecked MG's sound system and danced on the street while making silly hand gestures.
She allegedly told paramedics to 'f*** off'.
Resident Prapasiri Ravangpai, who recorded the scene on April 3, said: 'The MG car, possibly a rental vehicle, was speeding and crashed into a car belonging to a local shopper. She appeared drunk, spoke incoherently, and was dancing to loud music while smoking a cigarette.'
Footage shows the tourist dancing around the overturned vehicle in the middle of the road, seemingly unbothered by the accident she caused.
She also took selfies inside the damaged car while her male friend, wearing only shorts and shirtless, waited outside.
The onlooker added: 'The woman also insulted rescuers at the scene, saying 'f*** you.' The Thai car owner sustained a neck injury, and his vehicle's rear was dented with a broken tyre.'
Local media said the same traveller had struck a parked car with a motorcycle on April 1 in the same area and then fled the scene.
Police are currently investigating the two incidents and the driver's actions.
The once-pristine island of Phuket has been marred by over-tourism as the Thai government implements a visa-free scheme to boost revenue following the barren pandemic years.
The island saw 800,000 foreign visitors last year alone.
Phuket, along with Pattaya, has become a popular tropical haven for Russians escaping the war with neighbouring Ukraine. However, the clash of cultures between the former heavy-drinking former Soviet powerhouse and the polite locals has seen chaos erupt in a tourist destination.
However, angry locals claim the push for tourist dollars has attracted crowds of 'low-quality' visitors from Russia. There are also fears that the island has become an enclave of criminal activity, with police unable to control street fights and more organised ruffians setting up rackets among local businesses.
Phuket officials said they are implementing tighter immigration controls and screening processes amid a wave of drug-related crimes and illegal activities on the island.
