Bakersfield, United States - April 03, 2025 04/03/2025 08:43 pm (GMT-0700) BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Bakersfield police and fire departments responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Cottonwood Road and Hacienda Drive Thursday evening. The incident occurred when a pickup truck crashed into a power pole, with the crash reported at 8:43 p.m. Witnesses suggested the possibility of a rollover. Firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" to extricate one individual from the vehicle. The person was transported to a nearby hospital by Hall Ambulance with potentially minor to moderate injuries. As Pacific Gas and Electric crews worked to restore power to the affected area, police began investigating the cause of the crash. Due to the incident, both directions of Cottonwood Road were closed, and power outages have been reported in the vicinity.
