Los Angeles, United States - April 04, 2025 04/04/2025 10:21 pm (GMT-0700) COMPTON, Calif. – A reported explosion occurred at approximately 9:42 p.m. near the 13500 block of South Avalon Boulevard. Witnesses reported hearing a large boom that shook the entire complex before flames and smoke were seen coming from a unit. A witness stated she called 9-1-1 upon seeing the flames and smoke. At least one man was seen receiving treatment by medical personnel at the scene. Following the explosion, a crime scene was established, and firefighters evacuated the complex as they assessed the situation to confirm there was no further danger. The Bomb Squad was at the scene investigating the cause and threat, and the Red Cross was called to the scene.
