This is the heroic moment two girls used a noose to rescue a cat stuck on a high-rise building ledge.

Two kindhearted locals retrieved the moggy from the rooftop using a rope in Shaanxi, China, on April 2.

Footage shows them lowering the rope with a loop at the end. They then carefully positioned it around the feline.

When the stray cat stood up, attempting to walk away, they immediately pulled up the noose, causing the knot to tighten and securing the animal around its belly.

The rescuers quickly hoisted the black cat towards them as it wiggled mid-air.

The animal reportedly did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.

The filmer said: 'We initially called 911 and the property management, but they didn't respond, so we rescued the cat in the way we could. We also fed it before letting it go.'
