LONDON, UK - APR. 5, 2025: Youth Demand activists blocked the busy Marylebone Road in London, UK, during a pro-Palestine protest on Saturday, April 5. Demonstrators chanted slogans and held banners as they formed a human blockade, preventing vehicles from passing. The protest lasted approximately 15 minutes and elicited negative reaction from both passersby and stranded commuters. The incident follows the arrest of six Youth Demand activists last week during a meeting at a Quaker meeting house. Israel resumed its attacks in Gaza on March 18, shattering a two-month truce. More than 50,600 Palestinians have been killed in the enclave in Israel's military onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
