A cat suffering from smoke inhalation in a house fire was revived with oxygen masks.

The hapless feline was reportedly trapped in a burning apartment on Popova Street in Smolensk, Russia.

Upon receiving the fire call, firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) rushed to the scene, successfully extinguishing the flames.

They then discovered the weakened furry creature after dousing the inferno.

Footage shows a firefighter performing CPR and using an oxygen mask on the animal.

Eventually, after laborious rescue effort, the scorched feline opened its eyes and began breathing again.

The cat was reportedly sent to a veterinary clinic for further medical treatment.
