This is the amusing moment an agile porcupine is seen descending a tree with ease in New York.

Footage captured by Bill Combs Jr. shows the large rodent effortlessly climbing down the tree trunk.

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation stated that porcupines are semi-arboreal, spending much of their time in trees.

Authorities also said that the underside of the animal's tail is covered in bristle-like hairs, which help support it while climbing and feeding on branches.

Studies suggest that although porcupines are skilled climbers, they can fall from trees, which can be risky due to their sharp quills.

However, these creatures heal quickly, and their quills contain antibiotic properties that help protect them from infections if they accidentally stab themselves.
