This is the impressive moment a martial artist performed with a giant steel hula hoop in a record bid.

Song Hongqian, 52, demonstrated his incredible balancing skills as he spun a 40 lb (18.14 kg) metal ring around his waist while training for the Guinness World Records in Henan, China, on March 11.

Footage shows the Kung Fu master, dressed in traditional black Chinese attire, carefully pacing his movements to generate momentum, effortlessly spinning the enormous hoop with remarkable control. He synchronised his body's rotations to keep the massive ring in motion—using just a flick of his hips.

He can be seen effortlessly whirling the hoop, which has a circumference of 41 ft (12.57 m), around himself as if it were a child's toy.

Earlier this month, he also demonstrated his strength in an exhibition, performing a head training stunt where he smashed concrete posts with his forehead—without flinching.

Song Hongqian is striving to surpass the current record holder, Yuya Yamada from Japan, who in 2019 spun a hula hoop with a massive 16.9-metre (55-foot) circumference. Determined to claim the title, he continues to train relentlessly for the challenge.
