US, Phoenix: Scottsdale Suspect In Custody After DPS High Speed Pursuit
Phoenix, United States - April 05, 2025 04/05/2025 12:50 am (GMT-0700) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – An AZ DPS trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a speeding white Audi on eastbound I-10 near 27th Avenue. The vehicle refused to yield, and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect fled north on the I-17 from Interstate 10. The vehicle later exited the I-17 at Camelback Road and fled east. The Phoenix Police air unit acquired the vehicle as it exited the I-17 and began tracking the suspect from above. With the air unit overhead, ground units disengaged from the pursuit and tracked the suspect from a safe distance. The suspect fled southbound on 19th Avenue before traveling westbound on Indian School Road. The suspect then entered the I-17 at ISR traveling southbound. The suspect led troopers south on I-17, then east on I-10. The chase then entered the Red Mountain 202 before exiting onto McDowell Road from the AZ 143 exit. The suspect then entered the city of Scottsdale via McDowell Road and fled north on 64th Street. The suspect then turned east on Thomas Road from 64th Street and attempted to enter a gated condo community located in the 6500 block of East Thomas Road. Troopers quickly converged on the suspect's vehicle as he waited at the property gate. A high-risk traffic stop was initiated, and the suspect was ordered to exit the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect was taken into DPS custody without further incident.
