Storyline: The U.N. agency for Palestine refugees said on Saturday that approximately 1.9 million people in Gaza, or about 90 percent of the population, have been left homeless amid ongoing bombardments by Israeli forces. Among the displaced are thousands of children in the besieged enclave haunted by widespread fear while experiencing continued heavy losses of lives almost on a daily basis. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) posted on X that the collapse of a fragile two-month ceasefire since March 18 had triggered a fresh wave of displacement, affecting over 142,000 people in just five days. The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 50,669, with 115,225 injured since the latest round of Israel-Hamas fighting erupted in early October 2023, according to Gaza health authorities on the same day. In the past 24 hours alone, a total of 60 bodies and 162 injured individuals have been brought to medical facilities across Gaza, the Gaza health authorities said. A total of 1,309 Palestinians has been killed and 3,184 others injured since Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza on March 18. Shotlist: Jabalia, Gaza Strip - April 2, 2025: 1.
