A crowd of hundreds gathered near the Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus - the parliament of the city of Berlin - in an early-morning demonstration against the expulsion of four Palestine solidarity activists which has been ordered by the city's interior ministry.

The rally had been called to coincide with a sitting of the interior affairs committee taking place in the parliament building, where parliamentarians were expected to question the interior minister Iris Spranger on the legal basis for the decision. Police blocked the protest from gathering directly outside the parliament building.
