PEOPLE CARRY BODY OF DECEASED (TWO SHOTS) RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - APR. 07, 2025: Omar Mohammad Saade Rabi, a 14-year-old, was killed when the Israeli army fired shots in Turmusayya, a town in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. Relatives mourned deeply as they gathered for the funeral on Monday, Apr. 07, overwhelmed by grief during his funeral ceremony in Turmusayya. Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, Israeli forces and illegal settlers have intensified attacks across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, killing 945 Palestinians, injuring around 7,000, and arresting over 15,800, according to official Palestinian figures. The International Court of Justice declared Israel’s longstanding occupation of Palestinian territories illegal in July. It demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Israeli army renewed a deadly assault on Gaza on March 18 and has since killed more than 1,300 people, injured over 3,400 others, and shattered a January ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in the enclave. Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to escalate attacks on Gaza amid efforts to implement US President Donald Trump's plan to displace Palestinians from the enclave. More than 50,700 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
