A lane-cutting driver was forced to reverse by a policeman during a traffic jam.

The black Toyota Wigo attempted to swerve into another lane in Lampung, Indonesia, on March 28.

Footage captured by Eko Budiman shows the officer manoeuvring in front of the traffic violator, forcing the driver to reverse and return to the correct lane.

Eko recalled that traffic congestion had built up in the area as people were returning home ahead of the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Local media reported that the driver was fined for causing a traffic obstruction.

The Road Traffic and Transportation Law in the country states that drivers must not obstruct traffic flow. Violations may result in fines of RP 250,000 (approximately 12.50 GBP) or imprisonment.
