VARIOUS OF BANNERS BEING CARRIED BY DEMONSTRATORS ARISH, EGYPT - APRIL 08: Thousands of people gathered near the border with the Gaza Strip in the northeastern Egyptian city of El-Arish to demonstrate in support of Palestine. Egyptians gathered near El-Arish Airport in the northern Sinai region to protest against the plan to expel Palestinians from Gaza. The demonstration was organized ahead of the visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to Arish. The demonstrators, who supported the Egyptian-Jordanian-French trilateral summit on Gaza held previous day in Cairo, carried banners reading “No to displacement”, “No to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause”, “We are all for the Palestinian cause”, “Gaza is our red line” and “We are all with you, Mr. President (Sisi)” and chanted slogans. Macron, who arrived in Egypt on Sunday for the trilateral summit on Gaza, is expected to meet with United Nations and French non-governmental organizations and Egyptian Red Crescent teams in El-Arish, and visit logistics centers where humanitarian aid sent to Gaza is stored and hospitals where Palestinian wounded are treated. - Trilateral summit between Egypt, Jordan and France Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron met yesterday in the Egyptian capital Cairo for a trilateral summit on Gaza. The leaders emphasized the need to stop Israel's attacks on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The leaders also called for the protection of Palestinians in Gaza, the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid, as well as the rejection of all attempts at forced displacement and annexation. In the evening, King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt and President Emmanuel Macron of France discussed with US President Donald Trump the ceasefire in Gaza, the full and immediate flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza and the release of prisoners.
