This is the amusing moment a toddler learned the art of faking a cry at a young age.

A mother was resting on the couch when her son playfully slapped her hand, prompting her to gently tap the child's forehead in Guangxi, China, on February 6.

This caused the child to begin whining in front of his mum.

Footage shows the woman pointing her finger at him after seeing through his act, causing the boy to stop crying and hug his mother to apologise for his behaviour.

Ms Lu, the mother of the child, said: 'I knew he was pretending the moment he started. He does this all the time, but as soon as I call him out, he just hugs me. He's quite the little actor!'
